Something Else?

Great experience overall. Three suggestions. 1) We were drawn to the ship and expedition by the inclusion of camping, mountaineering and kayaking as part of the overall price. We got to do each of these once in our week in Antarctica, and I yearned for more. If it is likely to be this number of experiences over the course of the expedition, make this clear from the start. It will help customers manage expectations better.2) On mountaineering--where the staff was excellent and the safety procedures excellent--I would dispense with the advanced and intro level mountaineering options. As a mountaineer of some experience, I trained in advance and lugged crampon-compatible boots. But due to perfectly valid concerns about crevasses safety on the glaciers, we did a a snowshoe trip and crampon-compatible boots were superfluous and a burden to carry. Jettison the advanced/intro distinction. 3) Add lectures on global warming and Antarctica, an issue of interest to many passengers.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Know in advance that Zodic crusies and walks on shore wikl be even better than you imagine.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I think more globally and with a greater understanding of the history of Antarctica.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Reduce the number of emails that you send to clients. Important messages get lost in the deluge.
