Tell us about the expedition team
Expedition team were all incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They were always available to answer any questions. The lectures were a great addition, particularly the history lectures - I would have love more of these. The kayaking team of Peter and Eduardo were great and made the experience more enjoyable. I would want to choose the same team again for my next adventure
Tell us about the Greg Mortimer
Cabin was comfortable and a good size. The boat crew were lovely, and made the effort to get to know people personally. Food was great each day with a good variety of options. Ship was clean and easy to explore. Lots of options to chill out and see the scenery
Tell us about the Kayaking
100% would recommend. I initially thought this would just be one outing so I was surprised to find out we would be kayaking on every adventure. This was an incredible way to see Antarctica, and meant we could get a lot closer to the wildlife - especially in the water. The expedition crew really made the trip
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Choose a smaller ship (with a capacity of less than 100) so that you can enjoy all the experiences. Choose a ship that provides excursions (like the kayaking etc) If travelling solo I would recommend a solo cabin - it's nice to have down time since the days are so busy . Book early season - the scene were amazing with all the snow around
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Share more information on the excursion - admittedly I didn't ask a lot of questions, but I thought the kayaking was just one outing so it was great to learn it was multiple days out
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very prepared - the Swoop team did a great job as preparing me for the trip. They were available to answer all my questions, and particularly helpful when I wanted to book extra add-ons either side of the voyage,
