What was your most memorable moment?
Impossible to say - every day was a unique eye opener Been on over 20 ships of different lines. The Hellenic Diana we travelled on is perfect design staffed with the friendliest, knowledgeable, helpful crew imaginable.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Wife and I are 84 - only complaint is that everyone was so solicitous and helpful we were insulted. Joke - but no chance of being unsafe - amazing.

Rate them 12 out of 10. Favorite lecture was on volcanos and moving plates by Brent
Tell us about the SH Diana
Exceeded all expectations. Great cabin could be separated by curtain into two rooms with balcony. Cabin stewards hovered to help. Food was exceptional and served in dining room that held all the guests. White table cloths and big windows. Definitely the best exploration ship we have ever been on.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
A lot warmer than expected. Temperature was around 32 degrees and the sun warm. Great parkas gifted to guests have to one down (?) removable jackets. Only needed light turtleneck type shirt underneath. Think skiing clothes at 32 degrees. Never cold, always got hot. Knit hats - no fur allowed 1 pair of mittens. Took hand and foot warmers - never used Unlike many other countries , money changers (not at airports) gave 20% premium over official rates. Clean $100 bills only.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Admiration of effort to prevent pollution. Read Shackleton. Didn’t realize penguins are tasty. More seriously we have better understanding of oceans and interdependence of earth

No. Great job.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Always prepared to travel. Actually not too excited in spite of numerous reports that it was best trip for many seasoned travelers.
