Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Most memorable were when we were up close to Gentoo penguins jumping on and off an iceberg and having fur seals and king penguins swimming close to the zodiac, More fun when cruising with more experienced/ knowledgeable guides. Also some didn’t always understand about positioning zodiac . An issue when so many taking photos meant I couldn’t see if not side on as they would all lean with their huge camera lenses and I couldn’t see. Better when side on with us taking turns kneeling when the situation allowed this to happen.

Tell us about the expedition team

Nate, Laurie, Jeanette and Jen. Favorite lecture hard to say as enjoyed many including seabirds, history of whaling, penguin information and talk on photography.

Tell us about the Seaventure

Loved our ship time. Very comfy. All crew superb and many were multitalented. Did so many things to help from providing entertainment to going the extra mile for us. Housekeeping for cabin 419 super, captain and bridge tour. Q & A session with head chef, hotel manager and supply manager fascinating. Food service from preparation to service wonderful.

Tell us about the Paddling

Sorry for my husband as I was not able to do this as post recent surgery and as they only have 2 person kayaks he was forced to kayak for his one go with a lady who was clearly not suitable for the experience. She was so obese it required 3 of the team to get her out of the kayak and my husband had to keep asking her to paddle as she didn’t want to make the effort. Note he is an experienced kayaker but it spoilt the experience for him. It would have been better if he had paddled alone. Plus no decent photo was possible. In comparison to other kayak experiences was a shame. Also didn’t check on level of experience so could pay to be coaching someone who wasn’t really interested but just wanted another ‘photo opportunity which is fine if not paired with you in your kayak!!
