Tell us about the expedition team
The expedition leader Marieke was brilliant. I always felt we were in good hands with regard to safety and the choice of landing sites. The communication was clear and helpful. All the expedition team members had an impressive store of knowledge and were very good at explaining things. My favourite lectures were the ones on Shackleton, penguin defecation and the origins of the Falklands War.
Tell us about the Silver Wind
Nice boat. Could maybe use a couple more washers and dryers and a better flow of people through the mud room and Zodiac boarding area. We had a bit of trouble controlling the temperature in our cabin. It was generally too warm. Otherwise, the cabin was great. The food was generally excellent.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Bring layers of clothing for different conditions. The provided parka is great for warmth and water and wind resistance. If you're trying to save money and have some flexibility, consider booking late. You might get a better deal.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It has given me a greater understanding and appreciation of Antarctic wildlife and the awesomeness of nature.

No. The people I dealt with were friendly and helpful.

Quite.
