Tell us about the Seaventure
For the price it was quite basic and showed signs of wear. The fitness room was small and at times too many using it ( with loud music playing). The crew kept is tidy. The food was abundant ( dinner was more like tapas yet presented beautifully. I didn’t find the flavors all that tasty such as a pasta s/p couldn’t help. The fresh fruit was the best. The dining room would get VERY noisy with all the people talking and I couldn’t hear the person next to me. What “intruded” a lot were the Chinese groups who didn’t speak english. They would talk when English speaker such as E.L. was briefing. they had a way of feeling they deserved to be first, in front, have tables to themselves, and so forth. They would come in late to a briefing as if it didn’t matter. Rude and disrespectful. They soured the experience for me.

The journey would not have been if not for the zodiac excursions.
Tell us about the expedition team
I liked seeing the Orca/China documentary. I did not appreciate how MY voyage was used as making advertisements for the company; Curious Traveler and her team took the mystic away for me…it was like being on a set and not with nature.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I disagree about taking too many layers. When told to stay away from the animals, DO IT! Think about people around you, your voice level, not getting in the way of cameras…and at the same time do not monopolize a place when others would like to take a photo too. Antarctica is to be respected and cared for.
