Overall, how was your trip?

Too many highlights to count - The landscapes and wildlife were stunning. I met some lovely people on the ship and made some lasting friendships. I was really impressed by the way the passengers were led to seats and were not left to find someone to sit with. This was particularly helpful as many were travelling alone. Finding that my great, great grandfather's ship (SS Great Britain) ended up in the Falklands and featured prominently in the museum. Also being able to follow my grandfather's route around the Horn, around which he had sailed nine times in the American wheat clippers. All a bit of unexpected family history. Stepping ashore on Elephant Island.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

It was absolutely amazing and definitely the best trip that I have ever done and exceeded my expectations.

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

I was very pleased and satisfied with the service provided by Swoop. My cabin was excellent. Despite the whoops in having to change ships I'm sure that I ended up it the right ship.

You chose a/an Voyage South Georgia, Falklands & Antarctica experience. How was that experience?

A great experience - exceeded my expectations. I would certainly recommend the RCGS Resolute to others.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

Highlights - just being in a zodiac cruising among penguins and icebergs. The land trip were great with the wildlife getting up close and personal with us. A spectacular trip.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

If you have ski goggles take them. Also I found that my ski mitts with inner liner gloves were the most practical as my mitts have wrist straps which made it very easy to just pull them off and use the inner liner to take photos without having to hang onto a glove.
