Ortelius

Overall, how was your trip?

Every moment we spent there was magical. One of the biggest highlights was spending a night on the continent and being close to nature and wildlife, specially to the cutest ever penguins. Surprisingly, the penguins were not afraid at all but rather curios and interested in us, strange visitors. The whole ship's operator crew of m/v Ortelius was simply amazing and absolutely professional in every possible way. They made our trip unforgettable.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

Incredibly amazing place and the best ever trip! Could not imagine anything better. But, to our big surprise, it was not cold enough for us :D

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

We were totally happy with the service Swoop provided, including the polar specialists we have been in contact with. Everything was processed in an extremely quick and efficient way, nothing could have been better. With no doubts we would use Swoop's services again.

You chose a/an Antarctic Basecamp Adventure experience. How was that experience?

Everything was just perfect for us, even exceeding our expectations.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

We did not use Swoop's services for our travel arrangements before and after the cruise but we're sure it would have been managed with the highest quality, as for the main trip, as well.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

We totally enjoyed and were absolutely happy with all the activities, including shore landings, mountaineering, kayaking, camping and the zodiac cruises. The ship's everyday life as well as all the landings were extremely well organized and perfectly timed. The wildlife and landscapes were breathtaking, and the highly professional and friendly expedition staff made our time even more enjoyable and memorable.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Just enjoy every moment, ideally not always through the lens of your camera ;)
