Landing on Elephant Island + All the other SHackleton relevant landings, e.g Cave Cove, Peggotty Bluff etc. The whole of South Georgia was amazing

All was memorable. It really was amthe trip of a lifetime. I did really enjoy the blue sky day when we did the Shackleton hike on South Georgia though.

Sitting in the zodiac with two humpback whales blowing a spiral of feeding bubble just a couple of metres away from us and then coming out of the water, diving back down a their flukes coming clearly out of the water. Then another occasion when a humpback whales swan up to us and under our zodiac. I also have to mention the occasion when just myself and hubby were in the zodiac with two expedition team members and we got up close and personal with two ice burgs. The polar plunge was pretty memorable also

Seeing the great landscape without anything disturbing it. The icebergs, snow, animals, mountains, glaciers and undisturbed landscape was jaw dropping.

Where to begin - it was all so amazing!! But, it would have to be the moment we landed on Gold Harbour with 50,000 King penguins. They wandered around us, curious but timid. I cried tears of joy.

My first step on Antarctica fulfilled another item on my bucket list. I have now walked on every continent in the world. Coupled with the amazing chance to see those things I have only seen on TV, this was a definite life experience I’ll not forget.

One of the most memorable moments of the entire trip was standing at St Andrews Bay, surrounded by tens of thousands of king penguins stretching to the horizon — a living, moving landscape that felt almost unreal in its scale and intensity. Another highlight was our perfect morning on Half Moon Island, with clear skies, crisp air, and a lively chinstrap penguin colony scattered across the snow, framed by bright sunlight and sweeping views of bays and distant glaciers. And in South Georgia, the elephant seal colonies offered an unforgettable experience of their own: massive beachmasters bellowing from the shore, younger males testing their luck at the edges, and pups calling from the grass — a raw and ancient drama unfolding just a few meters away.
