The moment shortly after boarding and I found out that I had paid $10,000 more than other solo travelers choosing their own room. Apparently the ship waived the solo supplement but Swoop was not in the loop.

When they cancelled our flight back because the runway was not safe to land the trip was ruined. They had no other backup plan to get us safely off Antarctica. We are currently rocking and rolling in the Drake Passage on the Nova and won’t be home for at least 3 more days. All our reservations to get home had to be cancelled and rebooked. At the least we’re spending another $3-5K to get new reservations to get home. No one so far is offering to compensate us for our troubles. The only reason we booked this trip with Antarctica21 was to avoid the Drake Passage. That was their selling point and they blew it. My wife has been sea sick ever since we started sailing north and we won’t be off the boat until Friday, if then. Too many to mention. People, experiences. Face to face with a humpback, penguins, fur seal, leopard seal, in the sea with penguins. Amazing people who will be life-long friends.

Hard to pin down one, seeing all the adorable penguins was nice, the majestic scenery when ship was sailing, some of icebergs and glaciers with the blue in it, the polar plunge (although that was about 15 seconds), waiting in Punta Arenas for two days due to bad weather before we could fly over to King George Island,

There were so many. All the penguins! Seals, whales. A calm Drake Passage. Sailing in the zodiac in Paradise Bay.

We were very happy with our choice to see Antartica up close through using kayaks to cruise through the icebergs. The most memorable was first seeing the size and magnificence of these beautiful structures.

It's hard to choose from so many; every day I thought was the best ever but I think I will say that the zodiac across Paradise Bay with the whales right in front of us or the cruise through Spert Islands channels and the iceberg graveyard with it all set off by the amazingly blue water. Also getting to 68 degrees south was incredible!

No question, hard to choose one. Far the best: zodiak cruise with the whales. Second: Paradise bay zodiak criuse on an amazing suny afternoon. Third: Deception Island on an amazing sunny day.

The whole trip was an unbelievable experience and a perfect honeymoon. The best part of the trip was being out in Zodiaks and seeing 20-30 humpback whales surfacing all around us.
