Emma lives in Argentine Patagonia but was raised among the windswept heather and wild moors of England's Brontë Country. Her passion for languages gave her a deep desire to learn about different cultures. Since her first trip backpacking the Greek Isles at 17, she's never looked back.

Get to know me

I studied French and Spanish at university, and thanks to that experience, was able to spend time in Paris and Argentina. I also volunteered in India and travelled to countries such as Serbia, Norway, Chile and Aruba.

I've now settled in Patagonia, a place that echoes my hometown's rugged, unspoilt landscapes. Happiness for me is watching the waves ripple across a crystal clear lake, crisp morning walks through the forest and camping with my whole family in the middle of nowhere while looking at a sea of stars.

Walking against katabatic winds while hearing only the snow whoosh around us as we watched penguins in their rookeries – which didn't seem to be phased by it at all!
Being one of just two people to witness a couple of humpback whales breaching at the stern of the ship
Arriving at Deception Island and seeing this desolate, atmospheric place slowly reveal itself amid the mist
Hearing the thundercrash of a calving glacier and feeling the subsequent mini tsunami wave it created while cruising by zodiac boat
Weaving in and out of the brash ice and listening to it crack against my kayak in Danko Bay.
