Lu says
Before I'd even set sail across the Drake Passage I saw humpback whales breaching outside my porthole window and said that even if I witnessed nothing else, my first trip had already surpassed expectations. The cherry on top would have been having David Attenborough narrating the journey.

My top 5 Antarctic experiences
- Landing on Half Moon Bay in thick snow during an early-season November voyage and being greeted by a group of six chinstraps strutting past
- Marvelling in awe at the sheer scale of the glaciers above Neko Harbour on a balmy, sunny day in Antarctica
- Getting involved in Citizen Science on a zodiac rib boat cruise that culminated with us zipping through the ice-filled sea, James Bond style
- Experiencing the beautiful eeriness of Deception Island – it was like a movie set, with a thick layer of snow covering the buildings and remnants of previous inhabitants
- Mailing letters from the polar post office in Port Lockroy
Posing in front of the penguins

More about me
- I've worked in various positions in the travel industry, from adventure sales to tailor-made trips
- Oral history – studying people's experiences of and opinions about significant events – is an interest of mine, and I've contributed to various research websites around this in my local area, East Sussex
- Outside of my job I'm a keen walker and love nothing more than taking in the views over Southeast England's Seven Sisters cliffs before ending at a pub or vineyard
- I adore testing new recipes and always pick up a local cookbook from each place I visit
Spending time out on deck
I can't wait to help you experience the wonder of the White Continent. There are no words that do it justice – it left me speechless.
